OPENING AND CLOSING FRIDAY PRAYERS.

THE FOLLOWING IS A PRAYER SEQUENCE FOR A PRAYER PRAYER THAT LAZIM DOES BY A FRIDAY PRAYER:

First say greetings !!! followed by muezzin proclaiming the call to prayer. After that the khotib read the following reading:

انّ الْحَمْدَللهِ نَحْمَدُهُ وَنَسْتَعِيْنُهُ وَنَسَتَغْفِرُهُ وَنَعُوْذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ شُرُوْرِ اَنْفُسِنَا وَمِنْ سَيِّئَاتِ اَعْمَالِنَا مَنْ يَّهْدِهِ اللهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْهُ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ

“Latin : Innal hamda lillah nahmaduhu wa nasta’inuhu wa nastaghfiruh, wa na’udzubillahi min syururi anfusina wa min sayyiati a’malina man yahdillah fala mudhilla lah wa man yudhlilhu fala haadiya lah”

The prayer above is not an absolute prayer ... you can read it with other prayer lafadz for example:

حَمْدًا وَشُكْرًا للهِ الَّذِيْ اَنْعَمَنَا بِنِعْمَةِ الاِيْمَانِ وَالاِسْلَامِ

“Latin : Hamdan wa syukron lillah, alladzi an’amana bini’matil imani wal islam”

or other lafadz-lafadz which contains praise.Furthermore, pray to Prophet Muhammad SAW:

اللّهُمَّ صَلِّي وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى ألِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ اَمَّا بَعْدُ

“Latin : Allahumma sholli wa sallim wa baarik ‘ala sayyidina muhammadin wa ‘ala alihi wa sohbihi ajma’in amma ba’du”

Then read the will of taqwa:

يَا اَيُّهَا النَّاسُ أُوْصِيْكُمْ وَنَفْسِي بِتَقْوَى اللهِ وَطَاعَتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُوْنَ

“Latin : Ya ayyuhan naas, usikum wa nafsi bitaqwallah wa tho’atihi la’alakum tuflihun”

With merit reading verse 102 of the letter Ali Imron:

يَا اَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اَمَنُوْا اتَّقُوْا اللهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلَا تَمُوْتُنَّ اِلَّا وَاَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُوْنَ

“Latin : Ya ayyuhalladzina amanuttaqullaha haqqa tuqotihi wala tamutunna illa wa antum muslimun

Or you can also read other verses that contain an invitation to taqwa. Example :

يَا اَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اَمَنُوْا اتَّقُوْا اللهَ وَكُوْنُوْا مَعَ الصَّادِقِيْنَ

“Latin : Ya ayyuhalladzina amanuttaqullaha wa kunu ma’as shodiqin”

Before Sitting Between the First and Second Sermons.

Prayer before sitting between two commonly used sermons:

بَارَكَ اللهُ لِي وَلَكُمْ فِي القُرْأنِ العَظِيْمِ وَنَفَعَنِي وَاِيَّاكُمْ بِمَا فِيْهِ مِنَ الاَيَاتِ وَ ذِكْرِالحَكِيْمِ وَ تَقَبَّلَ اللهُ مِنِّي وَمِنْكُمْ تِلَاوَتَهُ اِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ العَلِيْمِ

“Latin : Barakallah li wa lakum fil qur’anil ‘adzim wa nafa’ani wa iyyakum bima fihi minal ayati wa dzikril hakim, wa taqobbala minni wa minkum tilawatahu innahu huwas sami’ul ‘alim”

اَقُوْلُ قَوْلِي هذَا وَاسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ العَظِيْم لِي وَلَكُمْ, اِنَّهُ هُوَ الغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِيْمِ

“Latin : Aquulu qoulii haadza. wastaghfirullah al-‘adzim li wa lakum, innahu huwal ghofuru rohim”

After sitting between two sermons. back to read the praises of Allah, the prayer of the Prophet and the testament of taqwa.

Closing the Sermon

Before closing, generally the preacher read the chapter Al-Ahzab Verse 56, namely:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ۚ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا

“Latin : innAllaha wa malaikatahu yusholluna alan nabiy, ya ayyuhalladzina amanu shollu alaihi wa sallimu taslima”

Then return to pray to the Prophet, and continue with the ma'ruf prayers starting with praying for all Muslims, Muslims, believers, believers:

للّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُسْلِمِيْنَ وَالمُسْلِمَاتِ وَالمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالمُؤْمِنَاتِ الاَحْيِاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَالاَمْوَاتِ اِنَّكَ سَمِيْعٌ قَرِيْبٌ مُجِيْبُ الدَّعْوَاتِ وِ يَا قَاضِيَ الحَاجَاتِ

“Latin : “Allahummaghfir lil muslimina wa muslimat wal mukminina wal mukminat al-ahya minhum wal amwat inaka sami’un qoribun mujibud da’wat ya qodhiyal hajat”

After that, proceed with the ma'ruf and general prayers.

Shortly before closing the sermon, the general reading that the khotib gave was:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ ۚ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ

“Latin : InnAllaha yakmuru bil ‘adli wal ihsan wa iytaai dzil qurba, wa yanha ‘anil fahsyaai wal munkar wal bagy. ya’idzukum la’alakum tadzakkarun.

فَاذْكُرُوْا اللهَ العَظِيْم يَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوْهُ عَلَى نِعَمِهِ يَزِدْكُمْ وَاسْأَلُوْهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ يُعْطِيْكُمْ وَلَذِكْرُ اللهِ أَكْبَرْ, أَقِيْمُوْا الصَّلَاةَ

“Latin : Udzkurullah al-‘adzima yadzkurkum, wasykuruhu ‘ala ni’amihi yazidkum, was’aluhu min fadlihi yu’thiykum. wala dzikrullahi akbar, Aqimus sholah.
